Description
Alan Laney is no stranger to the Country and Bluegrass music community. Most people know him as a singer/songwriter. He had songs recorded by both Country and Bluegrass artists such as Charlie Louvin, Joe Diffie, Kix Brooks, Shania Twain, Brad Martin, Rosie Flores, Chad Austin, Seldom Scene, Tim Graves and Cherokee, James Monroe,The Special Consensus, and others. He has also given performances in 3 made for TV movies.
Alan has recorded his projects with many well known musician and producers (to include Don Gant, Garth Fundis, Bernie Leadon and Carl Jackson), as well as having catalogs with publishers such as Horipro Ent., High Seas Music, BMG Music, Three Sons Music Group., Tri-Moon Music, Bill Lowry Music Group, and Acuff Rose Publishing throughout his career. His roots, however, trace back to the hills of East Tennessee, where during and after his high school years he sang and played with Country and Bluegrass bands until heading off to college. He spent time in the U.S. Army, a few years in the cattle business, and brief stints in and out of bands and studios in between until eventually settling down in Nashville to focus on his love for songwriting.
