"A.J. Rosales has really come into his own, with a seemingly effortless display of emotive, melancholic lyricism and gleaming guitar work. Indeed, it is still something special when you hear someone who simply has that indefinable "it" factor, and is able to express that so cleanly and clearly.....Simplicity speaks volumes, and Resistor is a wonderfully warm, vulnerable and accessible album. Rosales is a rare and as yet undiscovered talent whose future contributions, I've no doubt, will continue to impress."
-Heidi Drockelman (indie-music.com)
"...what really knocked me out was the way it (the disk) was sequenced... and right smack dab in the middle of the compact disk called 'resistor' you find the title track, and it is an instrumental - and the guitar playing is quite good... "
-Richard Milne (WXRT radio Chicago)
"10 out of 10...one of the best guitar players I have been fortunate to hear while working for MWB.... a MUST HAVE for your collection if you enjoy hearing a guitar at all..."
- Jen Lush (midwestbands.com)
"Chicago guitar whiz A.J. Rosales clearly knows his way around his instrument and he's no slouch in the vocals department either..." "...gifted and innovative guitar technique."
- Robin Cracknell (americana-uk.com)

With the eleven song CD 'resistor', A.J. Rosales has released a 'solo' acoustic CD that showcases the many diverse facets of his playing style, from pop to rock, to folk, and even to more accomplished elements of jazz and classical.
After releasing the Earth and Shoal EP, and after garnering acclaim from that disk, A.J. felt the need to come back to a more natural production sound to express his musical ideas. This CD almost sounds like a live performance, capturing the essence of the music in a basic way with sparse but effective production. You won't hear another singer/songwriter/guitarist on CD Baby quite like AJ. Guaranteed - Take a listen!
Previous accomplishments include:
-Being played in Abercrombie and Fitch Stores
-Being included in a CMJ 'certain damage' compliation
-Beating the Smashing Pumpkins for the #1 slot on an Ohio College Radio Station (yes really)
-Being featured on WBEZ (Chicago Public Radio)
-opening up for bands such as Vertical Horizon and Modern English (remember them?)
