Shooting Rubys have created a Power Pop / Rhythm Rock / Alternative sound using melody, mature arrangements and vocal harmonies. Each member sharing in the song writing and singing, bringing together four separate voices, letting each track stand on it's own.
To date, Shooting Rubys have collaborated on over 50 songs with a wide variety of distinctive styles. Always evolving, always diverse. Sliding easily from up-tempo guitar twang to mellow acoustic strumming, to a hard edge crunch.
A long collective history of stage experience, playing in various bands and projects has contributed to giving the band a great versatility and confident stage show.
"Mood Swings and Cravings" is a collection of demo recordings recorded in a variety of bedrooms, hallways and living rooms. We remixed a few and we were awarded a grant to re-record "Even If" for FACTOR which is a Canadian organisation that helps independant acts with funding for all kinds of projects.
We had lots of help from Greg Smith, Rod Shearer (who has worked with Bran Van 3000) and many others.
