Description
The Volunteers are a straight-up Rock and Roll band and a true product of New York City. Led by songwriter Dan Goddard (guitar, vocals) this powerful threesome has been thoroughly entertaining audiences across the country with intelligent, poetic and often humorous songs that are instantly memorable. The band has toured nationally and been met by enthusiastic crowds who were left excited and wanting more.
The Volunteers have gained critical acclaim from such NYC publications as Jersey Beat, The Deli Magazine and New York Waste and nationally from The Onion and online independent music collective www.armthepit.com. MySpace.com recently featured The Volunteers' page (www.myspace.com/thevolunteers) based on the number of nationwide members who listened to their mp3s on the site. To date, over 12,000 people have viewed The Volunteers on MySpace.com and their songs have been streamed from the page over 20,000 times.
The Volunteers' self-titled debut album continues to sell at live performances, independent music stores and on the internet to thousands of happy fans. The band is currently working in the studio on a new album to be released prior to their Fall 2005 tour.
