This is the first album from Gavin Stewart's Whale Blue Eye. Underproduced, semi-pretentious, just what the world needs now ... (and you thought it was love)

YES, IT'S TRUE!:
... While those people you never really cared for anyway are listening to Britney by the pool, you discover a secret room (windowless and painted black) where Hendrix jams with Kerouac, and Robert Smith argues that his lipstick was right on target after all. The words tell a sad tale of alienation and longing, the music mournfully flows, and somehow you feel connected to something larger than yourself --but still quite secret in the best sense of the word.

SOME RANDOM FACTS (AND ONE QUESTION)
ABOUT WHALE BLUE EYE:

Brothers, Gavin (guitar & vocals) and Brian (bass guitar) Stewart, have played in bands together since their early teens.

Not unlike other well-known rock 'n'roll brothers, such as the Davies or the Gallaghers, Brian and Gavin have been known, at times, to "disagree."

The name Whale Blue Eye is derived from a Dylan Thomas poem.
And, as if that were not enough, Whale Blue Eye's "Pretty Picture" references both Rodin and Van Gogh (see?: nothing but pretentious drivel!)

"Psychic Faire" was written in less than an hour and recorded on the same day.

Can you think of any other band (other than Motorhead) that uses the word "obsequious" in a song?

The song "Dizzy With Joy" uses the phrase "ether dream" ("... all the hatred for myself, faded like an ether dream"). Ether is a substance employed in John Irving's excellent novel, "The Ciderhouse Rules." Alas, ether is a word with many definitions, ranging from the medicinal to the spiritual. AFTER BUYING THIS CD YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN INTERPRETATION BASED ON HOW YOU SEE THIS SONG--AND THE WORLD--yes, yes, yes, FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gavin has written "hundreds" of songs.

Brian used to play in a Grateful Dead cover band and has jammed with both Buddy Cage and Lenny Kravitz.

Gavin jammed with Lenny Kravitz too, but not at the same time as Brian.

Tony Angerson (who has since vanished into thin air) played drums on this CD. He also played on the Teenbeaters album "My World, My Sky," and on Jimmy Gnecco's first independent release, "Sour."

One of Gavin's earliest memories: his mom listening to a cassette of the Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour."

Whale Blue Eye has a good friend named Mod who is an excellent sound engineer and guitarist, but NO ONE knows what planet he is from. Mod, who can now be seen with NYC hipsters Elefant, engineered the "Dizzy With Joy" sessions and provides additional guitars and odd noises.

One night a small rat (or maybe it was a large mouse) visited Gavin and Mod, crawling down the wall of the studio as they tried to record one of these lovely ditties.
