Description
In 1995,The Flying Pig Theatre, a small independent company in Pittsburgh PA, produced the play "TIPTON" by Kellee Van Aken.
"TIPTON" was the story of Billy Tipton, a woman who dressed like a man in the 1940's to get work in jazz bands. More than just a tale of gender intrigue, the play was also a bittersweet love story. The play "TIPTON" went on to become one of the most acclaimed productions in Pittsburgh in 1995.
Meg Murray sang the vocals for the jazz project co-written and produced by Jeff Muller (Jes Grew, Eva Cassidy, Rich Chorne, Karl Straub) and the music of the play is now being re-released in CD form, with 5 original songs from the play, and an extra bonus track, also written by Jeff Muller and sung by Meg Murray, called "Carolina Whisper" from the CD "Jes Grew".
