Singer, songwriter,surfer and rule breaker. Margaret's musical style stems from her independent spirit and a lifelong love of guitar driven rockn'roll.Decidedly pop her music sometimes has an alternative rock edge with folk undertones. A prolific lyricist she likes to use metaphor irony and even simple clichs to paint a picture. Her powerful voice ads emotion and sends home the story. She admits that her lyrics come from a stream of uncensored thoughts and that they tend to be deep, emotional, and have a sarcastic sense of humor. Although her music can't really be labeled as happy or light, her songs ultimately end with a feeling of hope and strength. Music industry critics have called her lyrics intellectual, poetic, edgy and cool.Her songs really make you think and the melody stays in your head. The critics love her voice and call it hauntingly beautiful, sexy, one of a kind and instantly recognizable.
In 2003 her lyrics for the song "Still Next Door" won the directors award of merit in the Nashville Songwriting Contest. She has large local Orange County following. Performing on stage since the age of seven,Margaret loves a live audience and has a natural way of connecting with them. Several up and coming young singers are recording her song "Chasing Dragons" for their demo tapes. Her first Independent Album "Sound Of The Storm" was released in May 2004. Her music is being played on two different European radio stations and is being considered for major film and T.V. peojects in the U.S. In July 2004 Margaret was the featured artist of the week on the hot new digital music site www.rideonmusic.com.where three of her songs are number 1 in different catagories and selling well!!
She is a well known San Clemente surfer girl and supporter of the surfrider foundation. 10% of the profit from this album will be donated to the surfrider foundation.
