Description
Orlando follows in the wonderful tradition of the stylish vocalists of the 1920s,30s and 40s jazz and swing era who have provided that personal, literal and communicative link between the bandstand and the dance floor. A worthy torchbearer of that great craft- the old style jazz-influenced crooner/popular singer.
Orlando has developed a real warmth and tonal quality which gives an expressive emphasis and relaxed elegance to his phrasing and diction: combining as he does, his music with practice at the Criminal Bar of England and Wales.
Equally comfortable leading a big band as fronting a more intimate quintet, or even a quartet, Orlando's impeccable stage presence and deportment, as well as his sophisticated use of the microphone would grace any setting.
He counts amongst his many vocal and musical influences, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, and above all else, Francis Albert Sinatra. A real class act.
