Description
Olivier Manchon was born and raised in France. At the age of 5, he picked up the violin, after listening to David Oistrakh playing Beethoven's violin concerto.
After studying the violin classicallly, Olivier started studying jazz and graduated the American School of Modern Music. He then was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston that he joined in January 1999. He met over there some of the most amazing musicians, both faculties or students and also his wife Clare. He was awarded the string department performance award and after graduating in may 2000. After playing gigs both in Boston and New York (and pretty much everywhere in the US) Olivier moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as a violinist, playing both classical music in orchestras and filmscores and Jazz in the local clubs.
In March 2003, Olivier recorded his first album, "En Route..." available now on oliviermanchon.com and cdbaby.com. He now lives in New York City.
