Description
Born in Easington District, ST. Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies, Glenford S. Robinson was influenced by the great ones, Bob Marley, Gregory Isaac, Peter Tosh, and Yellow Man, just to name a few. Surrounded by the political violence of that era, and the constant turmoil in Jamaica, he looked toward music for emotional relief. After arriving from Jamaica, he resided in the ST. Albans and South Jamaica Area of Queens, NY, and attended Andrew Jackson high school and later joined the US Navy. During his time in the Navy, he began his art of rapping Reggae for his friends for fun. However, he later became serious about his art when friends began to tell him that his songs were very good. After returning from the Navy, he began working diligently on his music, and as a result of this hard work, he landed 4 songs on 93.5 FM " Phone Sex," "Another Lover, " "Pumpum Fat," and "Man She Wants." He has recently appeared on DJ. Envy's "Please Listen to My Demo" Mix tape and have been receiving a lot of attention from radio personalities who are intrigued by his new form of Reggae-Hip-Hop style. Now he has unleashed his new album "Ladyish?" which is a medley of Reggae- Hip-Hop, Alternative Rock, Haitian Kompa, and a whole lot of musical spices to satisfy any musical appetite. The album "Ladyish?" is now in stores. After serving 8 years in the US navy, and spending a year in the Persian Gulf during the Gulf War along with his Marine Reggae idol, Shaggy, Glenford earned the nickname RanJa. Glenford has pursued his education despite his musical success and has recently graduated from Stony Brook University, Long Island, New York with a BS degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences which makes him a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. With all these accomplishments, he still hasn't stop pursuing his dream to be the best he can be, and as a result of this, he is currently enrolled in the MBA in Healthcare Management Program at The University of Phoenix. So, we can see here that RanJa is on a mission both educationally and musically. With his recent tunes " Phone Sex," "Another Lover, " "Pumpum Fat," and "Man She Wants." He now seeks the attention of music lovers in the mainstream market.
