Rick Redington
Rick Redington has been performing in and around the Northeast for nearly 20 years now. As a solo singer/songwriter, a founding member of The Huge Members, one half of the acoustic duo The Heavily Bros., and most recently with a great back up band called The Luv Machine. Ricks other endeavors include A Rather Large Band (11 piece ensemble) & as a member of a three-piece jazz project called VII. All of these combined are what keep his calendar full and family fed. He is very fortunate to be doing what he loves and make a good living at it.
A typical week may include anything from a band gig in Washington D.C. to a solo act on New Smyrna Beach Fl. as well as a regular Sunday night stint at The Nightspot/Outback in Killington Vt. This has been Ricks home base for the past many years. His solo performances have been bringing people back to Killington all year round.
In the past Rick has opened for many different national recording artists such as: Joe Walsh, Blue Oyster Cult, The New Riders, Rick Danko, Warren Haynes of Govt Mule, Cake, April Wine, Mike Keneally(former F.Z. guitarist)and a host of others. Most recently Rick has opened for Hot Tuna, The Wailers, Richie Havens, & The Samples.
Rick Has 6 album releases to date and is currently working on his 7th. Four discs with former band Huge Members as well as two solo releases.
Rick also appeared in a movie with Billy Ray Cyrus called Radical Jack.
Ricks last release titled Destiny included a track with Rock n Roll hall of famer Jorma Kaukonen and his next release will feature two more songs recorded with Jorma as well as one track with Jack Casady. The new disc will be called Sweet Life and that is exactly what Rick seems to be living.
