Description
Perhaps the most prolific folk singer/songwriter in the progressive movement is David Rovics. With a wit and precision, David's music cuts through the delusions of corporate-culture and smacks you in the face with the truth. His music and message have crossed-over multiple genres and have become unifying points in the counter-culture. Like a contemporary Phil Ochs, David Rovics consistently has his guitar strums aimed straight at state capitalism. On September 13th Ever Reviled released Return (Al-Awda), his first studio album since "We Just Want the World" on Ever Reviled Records. On it David turns his keen style of song writing to the plight of occupied Palestine, connecting the struggle of the Palestinian people with quest for freedom and self-determination across the world. Featuring all brand new songs, this release promises to be highly anticipated. Ever Reviled Records is proud to be a part of it.
"It has been a pleasure to share a stage with David Rovics, whose words and music speak powerfully and lyrically to the world around us. An artist with a social conscience is to be cherished."
-Howard Zinn, author of A People's History of the United States
"From 'Minimum Wage Strike' to 'Henry Ford Was A Fascist,' the politics are spot on, and the songs rousing, rebellious, and downright rocking... Inspiring, and inspired... For anyone despairing of finding the next generation, worry no more!"
-AK Press Collective
"David Rovics' music gives life and hope in the struggle for peace and justice. He is an inspiration."
-Reverend Roy Bourgeois, founder, SOA Watch

"David's personal revolutionary spirit prevails as he questions current socio-political issues . . . the lyrics have an intenity behind them . .. Rovics has given listeners material to contemplate and debate among each other . . . he hopes his listeners will comprehend injustice . . . and his message will inspire rebellion to fight for what we truly believe in." - Andrea Ivanic, from the Indypendent
