Description
Abeb Halabi was a wellknown singer and percussionist in Lebanon before he moved to Europe. He started to write his first compositions under the production of Abdel Hazim. Abdel wrote the arrangements and played some of the instruments like gembri.
This belly dance album entitled "HATSHEPSUT" is dedicated to the Queen pharao Hatshepsut who ruled Egypt a couple of thousand years ago. The title piece includes instruments like guembri, bassoon, flute, darabukka soprano saxophone and a bunka-bunk.
The rest of the tracks are crispy ethno-tribal rhythms of the master percussionist Abed Halabi produced by Abdel Hazim. Used were egyptian percussion instruments like deff, mazhar, darabukka and sagat. We hear lebanese style of Saaidi, leff sariya and so on.
