Description
398 better known as D Side is a Houston native.
He was raised in the high crime area known as Trinity Garden.
At the age of 11 he found an interest in rap music.
Inspired by rappers such as The Geto Boys, Spice 1, and Gangsta Nip, he chose to seek out a career in music.
At the age of 17 in what was a loosing battle against drug addiction (LSD), he dropped out of high school, got his G.E.D., and began to try and start his own record label.
Unable to afford the high dollar rates of producers back then, he bought himself a keyboard and learned to compose his own music.
To avoid selling drugs and getting into more trouble than was necessary, he spent most of his time recording underground tapes that he sold in his neighborhood.
After the completion of three underground tapes he gained a local following and was ready to expand to the next level.
In 1998 he endured an emotional roller coaster ride of events from becoming the father of his first child, to suffering the death of his oldest brother, to becoming the executive producer of his first CD to be released in stores, 398 Welcome To The Darkside.
This album has been in circulation since 1998 and has been sold in select stores through out the country, but is now available here at the Cd Baby web store.
It will be followed in the late summer of 2004 by the release of his newest album under his better known alias.
