Description
In 2004, artists on Azalea City Recordings were nominated for 27 WAMMIE awards, including Best Record Label of the Year!
It began simply with a dream Charlie Pilzer, Grammy Award winning mastering engineer and producer, had one evening.
A dream of a CD label that let artists maintain the rights to their own work, reserve creative control, and work together with other artists to get their music heard and distributed. Charlie's vision of an artists' cooperative label has taken flight in a new label called Azalea City Recordings.
Azalea City Recordings has attracted an eclectic cornucopia of roots-based musicians and song writers who dip into the well of traditional music for their inspiration. While many labels are out chasing the next folk-pop sensation, Azalea City is a beacon for artists who draw from the legacy of our folk heritage to create music for the future
