Imagine dropping the top in a 65 Pontiac convertible, hitting the highway at top speed and cranking the tunes. 5th gear compares their music to that feeling.
5th gear was formed in early 2004 eager to do some rock that was full throttle and dynamic. Founding members Jason Snider and Clint Denny met while playing in another band but soon started an original project where they could showcase their talent for exceptional songwriting and hard-rocking groves. The addition of Rhett and Brett Huber added depth and blues overtones to 5th gear's sound, which combines high-intensity rock and melodies with huge commercial potential, while retaining both raw and polished sounds.
After rehearsing for a month, the 4-piece band immediately went into the studio to do a 4-song ep. The newly released CD is thick with catchy hard driving riffs and melodic vocals that are layered with harmonies. 5th gear also shows their versatility on the track titled "crumble", a song that slows down with image provoking lyrics and a chorus that rocks.
