Description
THREE STARS *** (Rolling Stone Magazine Germany 3/2001)
"... a remarkable singer/songwriter album ..." (Oldie-Markt, May 2001)
"Those who like strong songwriter material ... won't be disappointed by this one." (RootsTown Music Magazine, Belgium, June 2001)
This is Billy Goodman's second release on his own label, GoodmanRecords. It was produced by Thomm Jutz and Billy at R&T Musikproduktion in Gaggenau, Germany. The disk features 10 original songs by Billy and his brother Frank, the duo better known as the GOODMAN BROTHERS.
This is a singer songwriter album with a roots rock sound. It is stripped down and raw, with strong performances by Armin Rhl (Herbert Grnemeyer) on drums and Wolfy Ziegler on bass. Producer Thomm Jutz adds some bass and contributes masterful guitar work on every cut.
Billy handles all the vocals and uses his trademark Gibson J-45 acoustic and his electric bottleneck slide guitar throughout. He remains true to his signature style, unaffected by shifting musical trends. "The songs are stories, stories from my life. This is what I do and what I intend to continue doing. I'm still just scratching the surface." says Billy.
Goodman who is originally from the US now lives in Heidelberg, Germany.
