Description
Recorded mainly at Acme studios in Chicago, Donna's first CD has guest artists accordian player John Williams, Eric Remschneider on cello(Smashing Pumpkins), and klezmer clarinet player Donny Jacobs.
Donna is based in the Chicago area and has been a regular at the Uncommon Ground Coffeehouse appearing solo and in the Jeff Buckley tribute concerts. From l989 to l991, she was a guitarist and backup singer for The Art Thieves, where she met drummer Dr. Brad who produced most of the songs for "All the Riches of the World. "
In l996 while taking dance lessons at Lou Conte Dance Studio, she met dance instructor Domenick Danza and began a collaboration writing songs for his education theater group "Green Light Performing Company." One of her songs "Invisible Light" which describes the properties of light and supernovas was performed by the company at the Adler Planetarium (no relation).
Donna has shared the stage with Cheryl Wheeler, Robbie Fulks, Tom Dundee and others. She is on the Board of the Chicago Songwriters Collective and continues to write, perform and record.
"This is an album of graceful pop-flavored folk songs. There's a wonderful purity of vision and clarity of sound."
