Description
Carol Ames Carol Ames is a San Diego artist with a national sound.
Originally from Texas, her music is a mixture of styles
and influences that create a sound uniquely her own."Carol Ames is a playful performer with a lot of personal
electricity, backed by a tight polished band .....capable
of playing any size venue" says Ken Berry of The West
Coast Entertainer.
Since moving to California, she has put together a
band of San Diego's top musicians, including high-energy
guitarist David Beldoc, award-winning drummer Kevin
Dow, bassist Mike McMahon, keyboardist Steve Snyder
and saxophone player Bob Campbell. Carol is a prolific
songwriter and recently wrote the track "After August" -the
score and soundtrack of the movie The Month of
August released nationally by Angelic Entertainment." Carol
is one of a handful of performers that transcend an
individual medium and can be called a true performer,"
says Mark Maine, President of Angelic Entertainment.
She performs regularly at San Diego's top venues including
Humphrey's By the Bay, San Diego's acclaimed Gaslamp
District and many other festivals and special events.
Her second CD "Shakedown," released in 2002, was
nominated for Best Adult Alternative Album in the 2002
San Diego Music Awards. The song "Sorry" from this CD
was a finalist in the national Independent Music Awards.
"Ames has a great voice, a cool delivery and a polished
Americana band. It's tight, it's professional and may be the best Americana in town" says Ron Jacobs, San Diego
Slamm Magazine. Her new CD "Shades of Indigo," which
Carol also produced, was released in August 2004 and is
already garnering critical acclaim. "Ames is a triple threat artist... writing, producing and performing," says The Indie Artist Showcase in Atlanta.
"I don' t know if Carol's voice could be any better. A great delight for the ears. This song SHOULD be all over the airwaves" says Lance Le Brect of Good Faith Entertain-ment regarding "Nothin' But a Heartache." "Beautiful vox
and a very good song musically... says producer Raymond
Forchion about West Virginia. "This is a great song. Well
performed and it is presented very well. The vocals are
nearly perfect and the production values are great.," Nick
Kane Director of A & R for Skywater Records has to say
about Underneath the Texas Sky. She has packed the CD
with 12 tracks of infectious guitar driven pop that show-case her diversity as a writer. No matter where she
performs,Carol has won the loyalty of her fans and the
attention of many in the industry with her evocative vocals
and performance style.
