Description
Jonathan Pearlman and company bounce joyfully from hard rock to jazz to punk to funk.
The opening track is "Crash Landing", a non-stop rockabilly instrumental. It's followed by "Damn That Spam", a funny, funky jazz number. "Daddy Was A Pecan Man" is a Motown-flavored tune with a rock solid beat. "Trashman" is a blues shuffle with hot guitar solos and clever lyrics."Summer Hepatitis Party" is a true story about a food poisoning incident. "Grandma's Money" is a straight-ahead rocker. "My Dawg's Got A.D.D." is hilarious country-rock. "Duct Tape Time" is cool jazz with stream-of-consciousness lyrics.
What can be said about a song called "Satan's In Her Pelvis"? Reviews: "Cool exciting intro...Zappa-esque. Interesting how the 'half time' chords come in after the vocal lines. I liked the 'whispering' section. Cool lyrics. This is all very original and well recorded. Good production."
"Bee's Nest In Yer Brain", a high-energy punk rocker in the spirit of Offspring and Bad Religion. "The drums are solid and keep good tempo for the speed. The guitars sound raunchy and good, and the octaves he does during the intro and after chorus sound really good and make the song. The chorus sounds awesome and I love the back ups. The guitar solo.. WOOOOOO."
Interspersed with hilarious phone calls with telemarketers, "Top Secret" is a great party album with something for everybody!
