Description
Matt Schwartz- the eldest of eight children- started singing with his parents and siblings while growing up. He had his first solo part (yodeling) in a fourth-grade production and has fronted a country gospel band for several years.He currently has his own country group, The BackRoads Band.
He plays at several nursing homes and independant living centers once a month. Matt has played at various bluegrass jams around the Kalamazoo area and has performed for K'zoo Folklife Organization events, including the 9-11 benefit concert.
Matt has also been showcased at Prairieville Old Fashioned Farm Days and Country music Shows during the past two years. He plays at Country Fever Dance Ranch every Monday evening in Assyria, Michigan.
Matt has performed for Great Lakes Acoustic Music Association (G.L.A.M.A.) at their annual Spring Tune-Up concert. He was also one of the many featured acts at the Cooper's Glen Bluegrass Festival along with Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys in Sept. 2002
