Description
Darren Geffre has been writing since he was 12 years old. He has developed a rich and distinctive voice for the perfect accompaniment to his pop/rock music. Darren has a broad appeal to audiences of every walk of life. Darren has been playing and singing in bands since he was 16 years old. His previous groups include Wakinyan and Crimson Darren's original music was nominated for a 2001 Native American Music Award for the single "If I Ever", in the category of Best Independent Recording.
Darren's drive and constant persistence has caught the
attention of numerous publications. He has been featured in The Native Voice Newspaper, Men's Health Magazine, National Native News, Indian Country Today, Native People's Magazine,Pow Wow TV, Nativezine, Canada's (APTN) Aboriginal People's Television Network. Darren's music has also been featured on numerous Native American radio stations in the United States and Canada. Darren has been recently named "Music Maker of the Month" for August 2003, by Native America Calling National Radio Program.
"Uncivilized" was produced by pop maestro Pete Amato, whose credits include The Baha Men's "Who Let The Dogs Out", and Lee Ann Rimes, and Multi-Platinum Producer/Writer Duncan Pain, whose credits include Paula Abdul, and
co-writing Robbie Neville's hit "C'est La Vie."
