STOW, Ohio, October 5, 2004 - SC Records announces it's new release "Much To His Dismay...", a classic/contemporary Jazz recording featuring Ian Ross.
Ross, a Northeast Ohio Stow native and third - year student of jazz at the University of Cincinnati's Conservatory of Music, brought together five other musicians from the Conservatory to record this exciting new project. "Much To His Dismay" contains two of Ian's originals and five standards - all arranged by Ross.
The CD is a live recording from an early 2004 summer session.
"In recording terms, the session was very short," said Ross. "From set-up to completion, we recorded seven songs in three hours with 13 takes."
Lucky 13 (Ross' rock band) guitarist Ryan Flinn engineered the project. The CD was mastered by Bob Felmly at Miles Robert Audio, and is released under SC Records.
