Description
Martin Rivas, former guitarist/singer with Serious Pilgrim, current guitarist/multiinstrumentalist with Jesse Gage and Otis, released his second solo album, Bottleneck, in 2002. The first collection of songs by Martin that was intended to appear as an official "album," Bottleneck contains some wonderfully catchy melodies, introspective, hopeful lyrics, and the odd lap steel solo here and there.
Standouts include "Back There," "Part of the Deal," "My Little Soul," "What a Guy," and the wonderfully offbeat "Star Notes."
Martin continues to write and perform as part of Jesse Gage and Otis, whose debut album is being produced by Grammy award-winning John Seymour (Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Bouncing Souls). Martin plans to continue making steady-but-sporadic acoustic appearances throughout the Northeast United States.
