Description
Juan Cruz Masotta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1974. Since an early age, he studied music with different teachers in different institutions and was exposed to the influences of South American music.
In 1996 he obtains a scholarship to attend to Berklee College of Music, in Boston, MA. He graduated with honors on Jazz Composition and Film Scoring in May 2001.
Since September 2001 Juan lives in New York where obtained is MA in composition at CUNY, putting emphasis on electronic and ethnic music. He works actively as a songwriter/composer and has composed music for several films, plays and choreographies including Jinoh Park's "Request", which was successfully shown at Cannes, Reijavik and Sundance festivals, and Geoffrey Breedon's "Dark September Rain" (www.darkseptemberrain.com)
