October Song
Steve Howard and the Accidentals
It's kind of Country-swing-folk-blues-jazzy-sexy-lay-you-down-pick-you-up-make-you-wanna-dance-make-you-wanna-think-cry-laugh-kickbutt-harmonizin' type of music we call blu-wop. Yeah thats what it is.

Description
"Steve Howard and the Accidentals" is not so much aband or group as it is just
some friends who love to play music and just happen to sound great together.
"We actually were rehearsing the vocal arrangements for "October Song"
( there goes the myth about it all being spontaneous in the studio) and it just sounded so good. The kind of thing, as a musician, you get this tingling in the back of your scalp, and get wide eyed when you hit this chord vocally."
"Then going into the studio and hear the harmonies, songs and stories just evolve into something much more than it was when I wrote it is so amazing."
"And now, I get to go out with these guys and play live and it is every bit as magical and kick ass."
Steve Howard is an award winning singer/ songwriter whose "solo" CD
"Dreams" was chosen as Independent Songwriter Magazine's CD of the month in February 2004, and the song "Comin' Home" from the same CD was selected as one of the cuts on "Best of Boston Songwriters" CD 2004.
The "Accidentals" are, from left to right, Jon Hansen, Margie Howard and Jess Andra.
Jon is not only a very good solid bass player but is quite the artist. Jon is responsible for the all the artwork on the "October Song" CD as well as desiging the website at stevehowardmusic.com. ( I will wait while you click to the site.....) (back? OK...)
Margie Howard is the hardest working vocalist in the group. We give her all the middle harmonies, clearly the hardest. Margie did the back up vocals on "Dreams". It was there we discovered just how good she could sing. So when we went to do the next project she was penciled in for sure.
Adding Jess Andra was the final piece to the puzzle. Jon and Jess were doing a duo gig and I would go out to hear them, sit in the back and quietly sing harmonies along with them. I later asked if Jess would consider singing on the CD, she agreed and the rest is, as they say, history. Jess is, in real life, a very fine
actress as well .
So there you have it, Steve Howard and the Accidentals. Blu-wop at it's best.
