Description
This CD was released in 2000 and features great musicians - Barry Thrasher on some tasty guitar and mandolin, Joel Morris on fine drumming, Matthew Kahler on vocals and congas, Rachel Kihn on silky background vocals. Bill sings and plays guitars and percussion and accordion. It's a great CD to put on while you're reading the Sunday paper and having a cup of fresh ground coffe with a blueberry muffin straight out of the oven.
The tracks:
1. Perfect Night - kind of a Van Morrison flavored mid-tempo folky-rock song.
2. Water From The Well - a song that celebrates life, even though it opens at a funeral - sort of Wilcox-like in subject approach, dreamy ethereal.
3.Brings Me Back Around - up tempo, country folky, very upbeat, burning acoustic guitar lead by Barry.
4.We Can Make Love Last - love song, sounds like a movie theme over closing credits maybe - "even if I had a chance to do it over, I wouldn't change a thing if it meant being without you."
5. The River Runs Through Me - written for Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper's compilation benefit CD. Environmental without banging you over the head about it.
6. Stand By You -"I will, no matter what!" Cool kinda groovy song.
7. I'll Sail Again - David Wilcox meets Gordon Lightfoot - sailing metaphor/determination kind of song
8. The Dream Slipped .... cool groove on this one - about a guy remembering a once great love that is definitely over now that she's married. When was the exact moment she slipped away?
9. Everybody Changes - true enough, but not when someone else is trying to force the change. This woman is in love with the guy's potential, humorous lines.
10. Love Always Wins - solo acoustic guitar and voice love song. Very open hearted.
