Description
Ten Mile Tide is a San Francisco-based six-piece formed by identical twins Jason and Justin Munning and their Stanford roomates Steve Kessler and Marc Mazzoni. The band plays a smooth blend of rock, folk, bluegrass, and groove, and has shared the stage with other national touring acts such as Dispatch, moe., MOFRO, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Strangefolk, and Railroad Earth. On February 21st, 2003, the band was featured on CNN for its outspoken support of the file-sharing program Kazaa. Users of Kazaa have downloaded more than 8.6 million Ten Mile Tide songs worldwide and the band's growing Street Team now consists of more than 250 members in 42 U.S. States. The band recently completed a three month, nationwide fall '03 tour in support of their most recent album "Flow". On December 9, 2003, Ten Mile Tide released its second album, "Midnight Is Early". Recorded in August and September 2003 with producer Jack Gauthier (Dispatch, Pete Francis), the album features 11 Ten Mile Tide originals.
"The Summer of Love never ended for the amiable, jammy
San Francisco combo Ten Mile Tide. On their latest CD,
'Flow', the six-piece combines Cat Stevens-ish vocals
with a sweet, soaring fiddle, a poppier-than-expected
sensibility and lush production."
--Kimberly Chun, SF Gate
"The signature of TMT is the expert playing, and more
importantly, appropriate playing that allows the
groove, melody and individual musicianship to shine
through. The results are evident...The songs on Flow
alternate between summer festival dance numbers and
beautiful layed back soundscapes."

"Blazing a trail for neo-folkies in the new
millennium..."
