Description
A poet with sage like wisdom, Lasalle lays out tales of personal triumphs and defeats battling his own demons from alcohol abuse on the title track Too Angry To Pray where he laments Throw me a rope sweet Jesus/ help pull me back to my feet/ I've stumbled on lust and envy/ and some how, lost all belief.
Using a myriad of familiar styles as a backdrop, Lasalle and Co-producer Brent Little make full use of his soulful, chameleon like voice.
From the 60's soul of Everything but Goodbye and 70's Outlaw sound of Promises Made to the delta poetry of Fear.
The rollicking gospel fueled Bringing Love Back home and bluesy Take Me Back To Texas hit pay dirt in showing off his fine band the East Side Rockers and his genuine voice in songwriting.
Just For A Second may be the first classic of the new millennium. It's bittersweet tale of lost love, plays out like a three-minute movie as Lasalle croaks out the song with Louis Armstrong intensity
Ron Lasalle & The East Side Rockers: In their 10 years of touring together averaged 300 shows in 300 cities a year in both the U.S and Canada.
SRO crowds became the norm for this native of Niagara Falls, NY but, at the height of his success, Ron decided to take a break from the road and moved to Toronto, Canada to learn more about the business side and concentrate on his writing. Lasalle released his first single "Only The Strong Survive" on SBK records, going on to record the never released full LP for CBS Canada titled "Simple Glories".
Since moving to Nashville, TN, Ron has written and recorded with some of the worlds finest writer's and musicians such as Garry Tallent and Max Weinberg of Bruce Springsteen's band, Bucky Baxter (Steve Earle, Bob Dylan) George Marinelli (Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby).
