Chandelier is the second record from Athens, Ga based songwriter, Wes McDonald. It is a 12 song blues tinged pop collection and is McDonald's follow up to 2000's "Alarm Clock Recordings". McDonald also plays with Athens rock quartet, The Ohms, who are also due out with their second release in November (also on Magical Solution).
Chandelier was recorded in Athens, GA at Chase Park Transduction with Andy Baker and also at McDonald's A-Room Recording. "The sound of this one has some sort of blues thread running through it , but this is basically a pop-rock record, I guess." Says McDonald of "Chandelier".
Wes McDonald is a Birmingham, AL native who has lived in Athens since 1997. Magical Solution is a small, independent label that houses McDonald,The Ohms and up and coming Athens band, Thermopolis. Magical Solution's next release will be The Ohms' "If You Don't Think I Love You . . ."
