NO DIRECTION is exactly what it says it is. This is one of the most unpredictable albums I have ever heard. It is an anti-sequel to his 2000 release "The Big City Bob Songs" and seems to seek an entirely different audience than the first edition. It has a subtle anti-establishment tone to it, which I think is the secret to its dysfunctional, almost mad arrangement. The only song similar to the first release is the second track, called "Commercial Country". It is filled with clever innuendo, has lots of comical introductions, and if you've ever tried to make it in an underground rock band, you'll get the Farrelly Brothers or Spinal Tappish quality of the five part "Little Elroy: MISERABLE Band Manager". A mixture of wry and dry humor, Big City Bob Songs usually are pointless, have no genre, flow or purpose other than escapism entertainment, and this, while not actually a true or similar sequel to the first edition, seems to accomplish that.
