Description
Claddagh was formed in November, 2004, and is already acclaimed for their exciting approach to traditional Irish music. This seven member group has said they want to challenge the world's best, and they are well on their way toward achieving their goal having made a significant impact on the Colorado music scene. The players bring a diverse musical background from bluegrass, folk, rock, chamber, and old-time to blend into a fascinating kaleidoscope with a sound footing in the Irish tradition. Claddagh blends flutes, fiddles, hammered dulcimer, guitars, bass, bodhran, penny whistle, and mandolin into familiar music with amazingly unique arrangements.
Start with the age-old Irish melody and toss in a few kick-butt surprises. Multiple harmonies, multiple voicing, and high energy. That's Claddagh. It's Irish music played vigorously.
"Hi energy . . . great stuff . . . really fantastic!" - Cindy Reich, KRFC-FM, Fort Collins
"This exciting new Irish band is highly entertaining and a real crowd pleaser." - Chris Moore, Fontenot's, Winter Park
