Description

Sara Hickman has created a new children's cd, BIG KID, the third in her series of five. Following in the footsteps of NEWBORN (for babies/small children), TODDLER (31 hilarious, one to two minute songs, stories and poems---just right for the active, exploring child...and adult!), BIG KID has 27 action packed songs and stories that deliver ska, folk, bluegrass, country, pop, r & b, a cappella madrigal, rock with fun sing-a-long tunes. Ray Benson (of Asleep at the Wheel) delivers a Sara story about the origin of the rainstick, as well as Sara's mom, "Nana", who talks about an armadillo named Alice. Great for movement classes with children. BIG KID also teaches about everything from CANTALOUPE to why we're all PINK ON THE INSIDE. BIG KID comes with a tiny pencil (this is the age where kids are learning to read and write!), and an interactive booklet to start dialogue with your children about the photos inside.

Sara's daughter, Lily, recorded one of the songs, LOOK AT ME, as a six year old. It is an anthem Sara wrote for children so they can sing to their parents to ask for attention.

Sara Hickman has been making music since she was 7 years old, when she won the school talent show with a song she wrote about the bald eagle. She has released seven albums for adults on labels from Elektra, Discovery, Shanachie, and now her own, Sleeveless. She is a humanitarian, a mom to two adorable girls, and loves to bowl.
