Description
Jim Gibson is on of Atlanta's busiest pianists, working for social and corporate clients in many, many different settings. From this experience, Jim has learned that what people sing, hum, and whistle is the melody . . . and so his Hickory Cove recordings are all intentionally melodic.
Jim has developed a unique way of recording these CDs for Hickory Cove. He comes to the studio without music, and without pre-conceived ideas of how a song should be played. He then works with each song, playing with ideas until something "works"--a process that may take a long time . . . but that yields interesting and widely enjoyable results.
In this collection of favorite melodies from the Broadway stage, you'll enjoy older songs--"The Sound of Music" or "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'"--and newer songs like "Send in the Clowns" and "Music of the Night." These are songs by our greatest composers, and you'll enjoy Jim's relaxed and pleasant versions of these great melodies.
