Description
Equal parts artist and entrepreneur, singer/songwriter Adrianne Serna wasted no time hoping to be "discovered" by a big record label. Instead, she released her first album on her own Poor Girl Records, earned a Bachelors degree in Music Business from San Francisco State University, booked her own tours, and oh, yeah ...she wrote a whole bunch of songs, too.
Now, three years after the conception of her label and the release of her debut, Adrianne is back with a brand new album and a five-piece band to be reckoned with. The new CD, Time and Place, is chock full of big choruses, lush harmonies, and not a single lyric that contains the word "baby"; a feat that Adrianne finds worth noting. This 13-track collection of Folk-Infused Pop/Rock is a sure sign that this artist is on top of her game and having plenty of fun in the process.
Based out of the Bay Area, the Adrianne Serna Band performs often in and around San Francisco and tours frequently down the west coast. Joining Adrianne on stage are Todd Prose on bass, Keady Phelan on harmony vocals, Scott King on drums and Dave Sampson on electric guitar. The band's shows are always upbeat and entertaining and are enjoyed by all ages and all walks of life.
Adrianne cites musical influences such as The Sundays, Liz Phair, Bob Dylan, and Ani Difranco. Her songs have been featured on many radio stations including Tucson's KXCI, Cleveland's WRUW, Honolulu's KTUH, Arkansas' KASU, and Maine's WMHB. As an avid fan of road trips and a restless young soul, this native Ohioan traveled the country a number of times before deciding to make the Bay Area her home in 1998.
