ABOUT THE ARTIST
Harper, composer, dancer, writer, and keyboardist, Shayne White comes from a long line of artists and musicians. At age eight he began studying Medieval and Celtic harp with acclaimed harpist Cheryl Ann Fulton and soon went on to learn Scottish step-dancing under the tutelage of such fine dancers as Maggie Moore, Mary Janet MacDonald, and Sara Gratiot. Now seventeen years of age, Shayne is a primary member of the Celtic and Early Music ensemble Distant Oaks, and he has performed throughout the Western United States, Scotland, and Ireland. He has recorded with several well-known Celtic musicians, including Jerry O'Sullivan, Liz Carroll, and Patrick Ball.
Shayne's harp background has helped provide the building blocks for his Electronic Music career. In 1997, Shayne began composing Electronic Music on a General MIDI sound card in his spare time, and eventually his endeavors led to a full-scale recording project. Over the years he has upgraded his studio to include some of the finest state-of-the-art electronic instruments and recording equipment currently available.
Shayne lives in the wine country of Sonoma County, California, along with his cat, Murphy, and his dog, Gwyn.
