Description
Who Is The Showtyme Jazz Duo - The Showtyme Jazz Duo consists of Cliff and Sei deMarks. They both live in Atlanta, GA the past 20 years. For years they made their way up the corporate ladder until they could no longer resist the call to go and do what they love full time. This decision has led to a fulltime career in music, many miles totaled up crisscrossing the country, and many, many loyal fans.
Where Did the Name Come From - Our early performances were as street performers at various locales in the Atlanta area. Our fans were so taken with Cliff's musical abilities, especially his ability to play two instruments at once, that they dubbed him Mr. Showtyme. Later that was shortened to Showtyme. And our closest friends now just call him "Show."
What Instruments Does Cliff Play - He plays the majority of the reed instruments, saxophone and clarinet, plus drums, bass and piano.
Where Did They Receive Their Training - Neither Cliff nor Sei received any formal music performance training. They both have God-given gifts for which they are thankful.
What's That Thing Around His Neck - It is an electronic wind controller, made by Yamaha, a WX5. It has the fingering of a saxophone and using the VL70 sound module can become any instrument in the orchestra and all synthesized sounds.
What Artists Do They Like - Cliff loves Joe Sample, Bob James and Alex Bugnon. Sei loves Sade, John Lee Hooker, Sting.
