Description
Trumpeter Jonathan Sigel's debut release, "Milky Way Soul," is a sleek blend of uptempo smooth jazz - replete with modern production, soulful performances, infectious grooves, irresistible melodies, and rich harmonies designed for sophisticated tastes.
Co-produced, co-performed and engineered by keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Brian Charette, "Milky Way Soul" is currently receiving regular smooth jazz radio airplay on stations across the U.S., including Rafe Gomez' syndicated smooth jazz mix show "The Groove Boutique".
A New York native, Sigel's primary musical influences include Stevie Wonder, George Duke, George Benson, Jeff Lorber and Steely Dan. Sigel has performed with jazz and Latin/pop luminaries including Chico O'Farrill, Mario Bauza, George Lamond, Clark Terry, and Don Braden, as well as many Hollywood film and TV soundtracks. He was featured at the 2000 Copenhagen Jazz Festival (as well as the upcoming 2005 Festival), and is the founder of Innervisions, the premier Stevie Wonder tribute band in America.
Jonathan is a 1994 graduate of Harvard University, where he performed with jazz sax phenomenon Joshua Redman.
