Description
(June 2003) Produced by Rick Salt (David Gogo, Jeffrey Sez), Jack Connolly's new disk contains 12 original songs and is already getting spins on Vancouver Island Radio - 100.3 the Q in Victoria, CHLY Radio Malaspina (Nanaimo), and 89.7 Sun FM (Duncan), which has had "Ride No Hands," "32x the Size of Life," "Red Limousine" in regular rotation. "We've worked hard over the past two years, playing and writing," says Connolly. "It's all been about making an album of great songs."
Jack is a busy performer who works solo and with a band of talented players. Check out his website for specifics.
Connolly has been described as an accomplished and energetic performer who is "emerging as a major player" on the west coast. As one newspaper said in June of 2002, "Connolly plays with compelling stage presence, accomplished guitar style, and a winning voice . . . "
The Empty Cafe was recorded with a 5-piece band including Billy Hicks (drums), Jim Bennett (bass), Nathan McKay (Keyboard) and Rick Salt (guitar). Jack describes his new sound as "roots/rock. The elements of folk music are preserved and the lyrics are strong, but Empty Cafe let's the roots rock and roll."
