Susanna's Garden
S.M. Shockey
Great songs and a soulful voice, a solid rhythm groove with guitar, sax, mandolin, and flute for flavor - and bluesy harmonica holding it all together.

Description
This is the CD that started the Blue Sky band. We had such a good time on this project that we just had to get a band together! Can't wait to hear what happens next!
So here's what I like best about the CD: absolutely, inspirational HARMONICA - can't get enough; SAX and FLUTE licks that will make you wish you'd paid more attention to your high school band teacher; a yummy GUITAR buffet; BASS that won't let you down; and Pat's DRUMS - full of little surprises. Oh yeah, the VOCALS! I hope it sounds like we were having fun - we were!
'To Be Free' is probably my favorite song on the CD. I had a song idea in my head for quite awhile - something along the lines that it's not enough to tolerate diversity but that we have to rejoice in our differences. So 'To Be Free' is my attempt to share that feeling.
'Are You Worth My Time' is a song a friend of mine wrote. At first I wasn't sure I liked the sentiment but then I thought about friends I know who haven't found 'the one' yet. With each failed relationship things start to seem more hopeless - so that's what was in my mind when we recorded that song.
I wrote 'Whisper' about a relationship that didn't work but was a lot of fun. 'Still' is a song for my husband - it could be subtitled 'Leech Attack Leads To True Love', but that's a really long story!
Hope you like the music!
