Description
The Steady Ups represent some if the finest examples of traditional rocksteady/reggae music from Jamaica. Originating from Sacramento, CA, the ten piece band was rocking dance floors in the mid nineties. This year brings a retro release of "Steady Ups vs Doctor Echo - Dub Disaster". As the final mixes have been simmering in celestial realms of time's musical integrity tester, this release comes out the gate with 11 tracks of the hottest moments of the confrontation between the doctor and the band. This collection represents the original lineup of the Steady Ups crew including Tyler Pope on guitar, Justin DeHart on drums, and Susan Foley on keys. As the third release from the doctor, this album continues to exemplify the doctor's organic mixing style and production techniques. Many of the original versions of the dubs on the album have not been released elsewhere, and serve to give listeners a fresh experience of some of the band's most exciting early recorded repertoire.
