Description
Flight is the second release from composer, producer and engineer Steve La Cerra.
On Flight, La Cerra clearly defines the genre he pioneered: 'new age with attitude.'
Drawing from influences as diverse as Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, Beethoven and Pat Metheny, Flight represents the culmination of La Cerra's efforts to deliver new age-type melodies without the wimpy-ness!
"Sierra Nevada" - the CD's fiery opening song - demonstrates La Cerra's ability to compose memorable tunes and perform them with a kick-ass band playing strong arrangements.
More aggressive than Steve's debut CD One Step At A Time, Flight showcases La Cerra's drumming abilities and proves that good songs can happily co-exist with technical ability.
This time out Steve is joined by musicians Adam Fier, Pete Saccoccio, Paul Baccash, Rob Granger and Jim McCartney - forming the backbone for a solid rhythm section which is as inventive as their parts are musical.
With "Into The Arms Of Morpheus" La Cerra explores the depths of the sleeping mind, and opens our hearts to a place many of us have never been.
Steve La Cerra soars on Flight!
