Description
The Laurie Morvan Band creates a gritty blend of rock & blues, all powered by the high octane fuel of Laurie Morvan's lead guitar and vocals.
"With a connection to Stevie Ray Vaughan...Morvan handles all guitar work...aggressive fretwork." Blues Review Magazine (Jan/2005)
"Imagine the Indigo Girls having an orgy with The Allman Brothers Band with Stevie Ray Vaughan snapping pictures." OC Weekly, Santa Ana, CA.
"It's Stevie Ray Vaughan meets Bonnie Raitt." The Enterprise, Plainfield, IL.
Laurie's songwriting runs the gamut of modern blues-infused rockers to melodic, acoustic guitar and piano based ballads flavored with everything from lush three part harmonies to flute and violin. Storytelling lyrics interwoven with memorable melodies are the rule of order as each song takes you to a different emotional setting, from the raucously joyful celebrations of Big Love and I Can't Get Enough to the introspective expositions of Find My Way Home and Holy War.
