Guitarist David Barrett has played with Canadian bands Platinum Blonde, Vertigo and no.9, and has recorded for artists such as Mark Holmes, Amanda Marshall and Esthero. He has also composed music for film soundtracks, and produced spoken word and solo guitar cds.
Staring Into The Sun is David Barrett's first solo cd, released in 1996. All fifteen tracks were written and arranged by David Barrett. The cd was engineered, produced and digitally mastered by Richard Chycki. The songs were played on a Gibson ES 175 and an Ibanez electric twelve string, both heavily processed using an Eventide 3500. Each track on Staring Into the Sun displays a different style and sonic quality in the new age/solo guitar genre.
