Description
Paid in Full was inspired by a tape I heard on the Sinner's Prayer. Jesus calls us to repent, to believe in Him, and to do His will. So, this album begins with a very rude awakening - finding Jesus in the faces of those we least expect to regard as holy - people who need to kow the love of Jesus. The second song reminds us that even those who do not believe in Jesus are to be loved and assisted. Yes, they, too, have needs and Jesus calls us to serve them, also. "Tell Us..." and "Do You..." take us up to the balcony of the Upper Room from which Peter first preached the Resurrection of the Messiah. Peter is excited! The crowd is excited! Everyone who can witnesses to the miracles of their Risen Lord! "The Carpenter's Song" was inspired! Written at the death bed of one of my high school youth group members it is a song of love, of family, of duty, and of parting. Ah! What is your "Motivation", Christian? Is it pure or are you still struggling against your self-seeking ego? And, have you really internalized "the second commandment which is almost as important as the first"(Mt 22:38)? "Thank You, Lord" is not trivial! Listen and let it touch you. The next songs touch on surrendering our lives to the God who loves us, who guides us even when we are not paying attention, and who does not care about our wealth or achievements but wants a sincere, repentent heart. "Wooden Cross" celebrates Jesus' command to "take up your cross and follow me." Enjoy this. Let it keep you "on path" or help you to get back up and start running the race again!
