Description
Love Spirals Downwards celebrated the new millennium with the release of 'Temporal,' a career retrospective spanning the 8-year history of the duo's recordings for Projekt Records. From their hauntingly beautiful acoustic world/folk beginnings to their later ambient electronica sound, this compilation covers the entirety of LSD's body of work with 13 tracks compiled by bandleader, Ryan Lum.
Over their 8 year history, Love Spirals Downwards released 4 albums; Idylls (1992), Ardor (1994), Ever (1996), and Flux (1998), 1 single, Sideways Forest (1996), and a retrospective collection, Temporal: A Collection of Music Past & Present (2000), incorporating the styles of ethereal rock, world music, ambient, new age, and electronica to create a sound uniquely their own.
Arranged in reverse chronology, 'Temporal' begins at the end of the band's career with a set of remixes produced by Lum in 1999. Also included on the album are several tracks from compilations or EPs not available on any of their albums, plus a live song (for good measure). All in all, 'Temporal' is 66 bliss-filled minutes highlighting the unique journey of Love Spirals Downwards' musical progression from 1991 to 1999.
