Description
The Road to Who Knows Why is the culmination of a musical project that began about five years ago. I wanted to capture musically experiences in my lifetime. Inspiration for the cd came from a variety of sources. The final song, "Come Back Tomorrow" describes the efforts of two men trying hard to make it in the music industry working all through the night to be a success. Tony Smith, my engineer, guitarist and very good friend and I, work long into the night trying to fashion the kind of music that people want to hear. "Impro Man" describes my early musical life, taking the train to New York City to study music theory at the Mannes College of Music, but really wanting to just improvise and play what I heard in my own head. Lady Justice is about my day job as a public defender, trying to convince the judge to give my guy a break. "Shades of Blue" is about divorce and the strain it causes in our daily lives to just make it to the next day. The Road to Who Knows Why is about the influence of a woman who makes me want to get up in the morning. Coyote Ugly is a funny song about mistakes. I hope you enjoy the results of this musical project. Special thanks to Tony, without whom this cd never would have been made. Bob Field
