hi this is tim and this is lou ....of the...brambles.and we hope you like this record we're making. so goes the spoken intro from cousins tim and lou anthony(the brambles)at the beginning of this sixties styled pop album. it's the sort
of quaintness that makes the listener feel they've just beeninvited into the brambles living room to hear some new songs for your approval. for bramble songwriter tim anthony is a disciple of eric carmen circa (fresh raspberries). throw in some dwight twilley,early shoesand richard x. heyman and you'll get a pretty good idea where these guys are coming from. tracks like "i want to be with you" "every time" "eyes of love" "lonelyville" and the great angst ridden
"falling" show tim anthony has a firm grasp of what makes or breaks this type of music. these songs are pop classics! the arrangements and harmonies on this are tastefully under stated the way good pop should be.this cd is a must have for any one who is a lover of great powerpop!

the brambles "holiday from love" have areal winner here. tim anthony and cousin lou anthony capture the joy of sing songy type of pop. you just want hum right along with these songs. it's like these songs have been in your sub-conscious but it took the brambles to bring them to the surface.the result is a well crafted album of great 60's styled pop. now go out and this one, because it got me!

the brambles "holiday from love" is tim and lou anthony cousins and i guess that accounts for the great harmonies! the sound is familiar to fans of the raspberries, badfinger, and even late era searchers.this is inspired powerpop on the very pleasant amiable side of pop. the everly bros. styled vocals lend a nice coloring to the overall feel as it evokes the smooth sweetly sung eric carmen spirit that is so hard to pull off for so many pop bands. these guys pull it off! the wonderful melodies and hooks keep you quite frankly
hooked! we need more bands with this type of vocal embellishment to use the brambles example and run with it. recommended for fans of badfinger, raspberries, kyle vincent and tommy keene...........

the brambles biggest problem is they have too many hooky pop songs! a good problem to have. unlike most pop bands the brambles don't have any filler tracks.songs like "everytime" "eyes of love" "falling" and "now your're
in my heart" sound like undiscoverd cult hits - the kind of tracks diehard pop rocks fans search for on out of print classic records like the classic iv or badfinger. i guess when these bands ended the brambles decided to create their
own classics! fans will find this record filled with ear pleasing pop melodicism. highly recommended .

With vocals that are equal part Bowie and Elvis Costello reaching his high pitches,the duo cousins Lou and Tim Anthony make easy and quite invigorating classic pop on "I WANT TO BE WITH YOU".Complete with tamborine and California summer car driving feeling ,each song is tight almost to a fault.There is also a touch of Queen in some songs,particularly the bassline and rythym section in "THE KICK INSIDE".This song also has a Crowded House infectious pop quality.The harmonies in these songs remind me of The Everly Brothers Meet The Beatles.The "EYES OF LOVE" has a surprisingly up-tempo and buoyant taste as it ends.The best track has to be "NOW YOU'RE IN MY HEART" which comes off as a cross between The Bangles and Tom Petty with it's lovable arrangement and bubblegum performance ."FALLING", "SAFE IN MY ARMS" and "ALWAYS BEEN YOU" are also adorable classic pop.Catchy and inviting pop/rock.
