Description
Breaking Laces sound has been compared to bands across the spectrum, from the Violent Femmes to the Lemonheads to Ben Fold's Five. It's no doubt, though, that it's frontman Willem Hartong's quirky, well-crafted songs backed by a locked rhythm section that make them hard to peg.
"Operation Income" is a collection of acoustic songs and demos from yonder years intended for mellower audience and those of you who might be interested in the skeletal versions of our songs. You'll hear Willem all alone in a room with a mic and guitar as well as songs that started that way until producer Chris Liberti threw in some choice beats and various other instruments.
"This is Breaking Laces stripped down but full of honesty and confidence. The songs have never sounded so naked yet so good."
- Marty Stinson, FAFeast Reporter
* Four of these songs and many others can be found in all their glory on our first release off Sidewinder Records entitled "Sohcahtoa".
