REVIEW:
"One of the greatest multi-instrumentalists of our era!"
Jon Flanagan - Radio and Retail Promotions
The 'simple' story rev 0.1
It was the summer of 1998 and my heavy progressive rock band [Breaking Doubt] got burned out. I had been getting into more acoustic stuff at the time and already had some newer, less heavy tunes recorded, so I decided to write a few more songs and throw together a solo CD. Many of the tracks on the CD are one night writing/recording sessions originally meant to be scratch tracks that I ended up using as they were to preserve their original vibe. Others are more polished and produced. Some are somewhere in between. All in all, simple is simply a collection of whatever happened to happen at the time. After a second round of mastering, 'simple' became 'simple rev 1' which was released on CD in the summer of 1999. As time flew by, the year 2003 came around. It was decided that not enough of the world got a chance to hear 'simple rev 1', so it needed to be re-released. Threw on a couple of tunes that were recorded shortly after the release of 'rev 1', updated the CD artwork, and after 4 rounds of mastering, 'simple rev 2' became 'simple rev 2.3' and that's what you've got here. Be on the lookout for 'simple rev 3.x' sometime in the future, or not...
Did I mention that as of today (and maybe tomorrow too) this CD is only $5 if you buy a total of 3 or more CDs from CD Baby's $5 specials...or that you can buy 3 simple rev 2.3 CDs for only $15 and hook up a couple of your friends??? Yeah, I think I did...
So crank up the tracks, send me some feedback, or submit a review, and don't forget to tell your friends that they TOO should check out simple rev 2.3!!!
Thanks BIG TIME and ROCK ON!
Trevor
P.S. There's also some video footage and wacked out 'simple' loops on my site you might want to check out. You might want to check out. Check out. You might. My next CD...oh boy...

Some musicians have no desire to score a major label record deal, be #1 on Billboard, get their songs played over and over again on the radio, or have their CDs sell for $17.99 in music stores and only make pennies per sale. They simply (pun?) want to make good music that they think other people will enjoy, produce and sell CDs of their music, and perform their music live reasonably often to moderately large crowds of intimate fans. Also, they don't need to sell millions of CDs to be successful, but do need to sell tens of thousands of CDs to make a decent living. Sounds easy enough... Would(n't) you like to be an independent musician's next new fan?

And so you asked..."Why should I buy a simple rev 2.3 CD?"
THE (current and ever-changing) TOP 10+ REASONS TO BUY a simple rev 2.3 CD
1. Even though it might take you days, months, or even years to get into this CD, you NEVER will unless you just go ahead and buy it. So go ahead and buy it.
2. If you don't get into it within 14 days and are sick of trying, you can return it to CD Baby and they'll give you your money back (see the 'help' link at the top of the page).
3. Have you considered the chance that this CD could become one of your all time favorites? Now that's something to think about. Are you feeling implusive yet?
4. Oh the feeling of getting a new CD in the mail and popping it into your CD player for the first time...only to find that it sucks...and you've wasted your cash...that ain't gonna happen...unless you're like totally only into hip-hop or something. (see reason #2)
5. If for no other reason, you should buy this CD just to check out the cool confirmation email CD Baby will send you after you place your order.
6. You did know that if you are a returning CD Baby customer they'll send you an additional FREE CD with your order, right? (again with the reference to the 'help' link)
7. In case you didn't know, and if by chance you already own a simple rev 2.3 CD, it's perfectly acceptable to buy another one, or buy 5 more, or buy one every week. Whatever. It's fine with me. Really. I'm serious.
8. They make great gifts, coasters, wall art, etc.
9. I don't know. You tell me. Then I'll add more reasons.
10. You think it's cool. You like cool stuff.
10. You just want to.
10. You actually listened to all of the samples and you liked what you heard.
10. You've got nothing else to do at the moment.
10. You're mad at the world and need to relieve your stresses by making a secure online purchase.
10. You want to hear the rest of that 'Water' guitar solo.
